• Recipient of 2006 Joseph Hasek Student Award by the SVU Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences for paper "An Uncertain Image: U.S. Television News Coverage of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia."
• Chancellor Fellowship, Indiana University, 2004.
